RE-INTEGRATION OF FORMER COMBATANTS
Libya has a myriad of militias destabilizing the country. The militias have been able to recruit young, unemployed Libyans through the prospects of a stable income.
Through focus group research with former combatants, surveys of youth and private business, we assessed the labor market skills supply and demand to identify key gaps and possible under-explored opportunities.
Based on the identified opportunities, USAID was able to launch a programme supporting 16 different companies resulting in 361 new private sector jobs created within the first 6 months. Read more here
